Doug Page is a very accomplished musician, having not only played bass violin with the Cedar Rapids Symphony, but also playing with a number of bands. He has worked a lot with Bluegrass groups, and is well known in such circles.
He has directed the Hus Church Choir for over 18 years. During this time, the choir has become known throughout Cedar Rapids for its high quality, especially for a smaller sized congregation. A number of the choir members also have participated in musicals in local theaters. In several cases, the members have had the lead roles.
In the past four years, Doug's responsibilities at Hus Church have expanded to include the role of worship leader. Working with the primary worship team, this has not only meant a more contemporary approach to worship at Hus Church, but also pariticipating in worship leadership for other Christian groups in the Cedar Rapids area. Such venues have included Mission of Hope, a church emphasizing ministry to ex-offenders, and First Presbyterian Church's meals for the homeless program. |
